SLCC Minutes 8/21/04

 

Our guest Chef, Tom George and his partner Randy Merrill were a hit.  If you were unable to attend, you missed a spectacular treat.  For the 25 plus people who attended, they were indeed very fortunate.  

Tom provided a full spectrum demo on his world famous foccacia.  One was made, one was “proofing,” and another he made from scratch to the delight of the participants.   

In addition, Tom provided 6-cheeses paired with specific wines:  

Camembert Le Chatelain paired with Paul Smith Pinot Noir  
Idiazabal paired with Stevenot Tempranillo  
Aged Mimolette paired with Rodney Strong Cabernet  
Brin d-Amour paired with Jolivet Sancerre  
Brillo Pecorino DiVino paired with Dillian Barbera  
Bosina Robiola paired with Champlou Vouvray

The tasting fest was a hit!!!  Our mouths swirled with wonderful flavors.

Another SLCC event is tentatively planned in September (TBA).  In October, Margie Powell will host an October Fest.  Please be on the look-out for the invitations.
