What is Jackfruit?

  1. Jackfruit and breadfruit is one in the same. It is found primarily in the South Pacific and the inside fruit has the consistency of white creamy sweet custard; taste like durian, but does not have that foul odor.
  2. Is a fruit named after the Jackaroo animals of Australia. These animals are marsupials and feed primarily on this fruit. It is also a popular fruit with humans.
  3. Is the largest fruit in the world, and can be found in abundance in parts of India, Southeast Asia, the East Indies and the Philippines. It can be eaten raw as a fruit or it can be cooked. It can only be found canned or bottled in the U.S.
